At TMR, we claimed that Berkshire’s Bryony was “continuing to prove her place amongst the emerging pop royalty of 2020”, and her latest track ‘More Than Friends’ only further supports that big claim. Her latest single doesn’t mess around, letting her voice sit atop the muted accompaniment of the verse before exploding into catchy electro-pop mastery for the chorus. On writing the track during lockdown, she explains: “It’s about the experience of finding someone new when you’re so used to someone who doesn’t make you happy. It’s such a great feeling early on in a relationship and I felt like in the midst of everything crazy going on I needed a song to pick me up and remind me how exciting life is.” With her bedroom having become a temporary recording studio, expect to see much more from Bryony soon. -Dan Peeke
